What P07FB means
P07FB means gear 10 cannot be disengaged: the transmission stays in 10th despite the command to leave it.
How the engine computer detects it
No manufacturer document available to us uses it. The family is documented only for 8th gear on eight-speed dual-clutch transmissions (Maserati MC20, Corvette 2020–23); no dual-clutch transmission with ten gears and these codes is known. Ten-speed planetary automatics from Ford and GM report faults in 10th gear as a ratio code (P07F7, on Ford's 10R140 with 10th gear locked out) or through valve codes. The description follows the J2012 scheme and CARB's functional check of transmission outputs.

Symptoms
- Transmission stays in gear 10 and will not downshift
- Weak take-off after stopping
- Transmission warning, limp mode
Common causes
- Shift fork actuator or shift valve sticking (contamination) Most likely
- System pressure low or unstable (mechatronic pressure valve) Possible
- Shift fork, synchronizer or gear damaged Possible
- Fluid or filter contaminated Less likely
How to diagnose P07FB
- Read every stored code with an OBD-II scanner. If misfire or fuel trim codes are there too, fix those first: they often cause this one.
- Inspect the parts involved: shift fork actuator, transmission mechatronics, shift fork, transmission control module.
- Work through the causes above from most to least likely, cheapest checks first.
- Clear the code and drive a full drive cycle to confirm the repair held.

Questions drivers ask
Can I drive with code P07FB?
If the car shifts normally, drive gently to a shop. If it's stuck in one gear, slips, shifts harshly or won't move out of Park, don't drive it: have it towed.
