P0A62 signals overcurrent in phase V of drive motor A.

How the engine computer detects it

Hyundai lists it in bulletin 17-01-057-1 for the 2017 Ioniq Hybrid next to P0A5F, P0A65 and the isolation fault P0AA6: the bulletin traces them to coolant leaking inside the traction motor and checks the high-voltage insulation first. Check Engine and hybrid lights came on, acceleration weakened and the air conditioning stopped. The dealer first runs an isolation breakdown test with the scan tool, then checks the motor for coolant and replaces it if needed. A shorted turn or a damaged phase lead to ground gives the same picture on other vehicles. A Hyundai patent describes two measured phases with the third calculated. P0A61 is the low side, P0A60 the general V code, P0A5F and P0A65 phases U and W.
