What P032F means
P032F is a plausibility code: the engine module compares the torque the combustion engine actually delivers with the expected or requested torque.
How the engine computer detects it
On hybrids the actual torque can be measured precisely through the generator; if it stays too low for a calibrated time, the code sets. Ford uses it on the 2.5 liter Escape, Corsair and Maverick hybrids: after recall 23V-380 the software detects internal engine damage such as connecting rod bearing failure and can then shut the engine down – P032F appears together with Ford's P1061; another bulletin fixes false setting by software. Stellantis lists it on the Ram 6.7 Cummins for engine stall detection. Thresholds are not published.
