What P025F means
Boost sensor B is a second boost pressure sensor, for a second turbo or bank on twin-turbo engines or a second stage.
How the engine computer detects it
P025F counts brief excursions of its signal outside the valid range that are too short for the low or high code – the counterpart of P025E, which Ford sets after 10 such events in one drive cycle. No manufacturer using sensor B codes was found; the description follows CARB's input monitoring requirement and Ford's sensor A check.

Symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Occasional loss of power
- Boost limited
Common causes
- Loose contact or corrosion at the sensor B connector Most likely
- Wire breaking from vibration or heat Possible
- Sensor B faulty Possible
How to diagnose P025F
- Read every stored code with an OBD-II scanner. If misfire or fuel trim codes are there too, fix those first: they often cause this one.
- Inspect the parts involved: boost pressure sensor b, sensor wiring.
- Work through the causes above from most to least likely, cheapest checks first.
- Clear the code and drive a full drive cycle to confirm the repair held.
Reading the code
- P
- Powertrain
- 0
- Generic (SAE) code
- 2
- Fuel and air metering (injector circuit)
- 5F
- Specific fault
Questions drivers ask
Can I drive with code P025F?
Drive gently and only as far as you need to. The engine computer may limit power to protect the engine, so avoid highways and heavy traffic until it's fixed. If the check engine light starts flashing, pull over.
Will my car pass an emissions inspection with P025F?
Probably not in states that test vehicles with an OBD-II scan: an emissions-related code that keeps the check engine light on is usually an automatic fail. Rules differ by state and county, so check yours.
Can I fix P025F myself?
Often yes, with an OBD-II scanner and basic tools. Difficulty: easy. Start with the cheapest checks before replacing expensive parts.
