What P094C means
The pump is commanded on but does not deliver: it does not turn, turns too slowly or produces too little pressure.
How the engine computer detects it
The module judges this from pressure or speed feedback. No manufacturer documents this exact code publicly. Mercedes reports a comparable condition of the electric auxiliary oil pump on the 722.9 automatic under P0944; its test plan checks connector and fuse, supply voltage, CAN lines and software, then a check valve in the converter housing, before the pump is replaced. Hyundai lists a stuck high-flow pump on its 8-speed DCT as P193E71. CARB requires functional checks on outputs. P094B is the opposite fault, P094A the driver, P0944 the pressure loss of the whole unit.

Symptoms
- Warning light on
- Engine restarts at once or stop-start not available
- Delayed engagement or lost drive
Common causes
- Air in the pump after service or a suction leak Most likely
- Seized or failed pump motor Possible
- Blocked strainer or leaking check valve Possible
- Supply or relay fault stopping the pump Less likely
How to diagnose P094C
- Read every stored code with an OBD-II scanner. If misfire or fuel trim codes are there too, fix those first: they often cause this one.
- Inspect the parts involved: hydraulic pump, tcm.
- Work through the causes above from most to least likely, cheapest checks first.
- Clear the code and drive a full drive cycle to confirm the repair held.

Questions drivers ask
Can I drive with code P094C?
Drive gently and only as far as you need to. The engine computer may limit power to protect the engine, so avoid highways and heavy traffic until it's fixed. If the check engine light starts flashing, pull over.
Will my car pass an emissions inspection with P094C?
Probably not in states that test vehicles with an OBD-II scan: an emissions-related code that keeps the check engine light on is usually an automatic fail. Rules differ by state and county, so check yours.
Will P094C clear by itself?
The light can go off after several drive cycles without the fault, but the code returns if the cause is still there. After a repair, the readiness monitors need a full drive cycle before an inspection.
