What P0934 means
The pressure sensor signal sits below its valid window.
How the engine computer detects it
Chrysler RFE transmissions feed the line pressure sensor with a 5 V reference and expect 0.35 to 4.75 V; P0934 sets when the signal stays at or below 0.35 V for 0.18 s, monitored continuously with the engine running. Typical reasons are a signal wire shorted to ground, a lost 5 V reference or a failed sensor. Ferrari also uses P0934 on its DCT, described as hydraulic pressure sensor signal too low. P0935 is the opposite high fault, P0932 the general circuit fault, P0933 plausibility and P0936 intermittent. Without a usable pressure signal the control usually raises pressure to a safe maximum, so shifts turn harsh.

Symptoms
- Warning light on
- Harsh shifts due to default maximum pressure
- Possible limp mode
Common causes
- Sensor signal wire shorted to ground Most likely
- 5 V reference open or shorted Possible
- Pressure sensor or the solenoid pack carrying it failed Possible
- Control module fault Less likely
How to diagnose P0934
- Read every stored code with an OBD-II scanner. If misfire or fuel trim codes are there too, fix those first: they often cause this one.
- Inspect the parts involved: hydraulic pressure sensor, wiring harness, tcm.
- Work through the causes above from most to least likely, cheapest checks first.
- Clear the code and drive a full drive cycle to confirm the repair held.

Counts of owner complaints to the NHTSA that mention P0934 (4 in total), not failure rates: popular models get more complaints simply because more of them are on the road. Models with fewer than 3 complaints are left out.

Questions drivers ask
Can I drive with code P0934?
Drive gently and only as far as you need to. The engine computer may limit power to protect the engine, so avoid highways and heavy traffic until it's fixed. If the check engine light starts flashing, pull over.
Will my car pass an emissions inspection with P0934?
Probably not in states that test vehicles with an OBD-II scan: an emissions-related code that keeps the check engine light on is usually an automatic fail. Rules differ by state and county, so check yours.
