What P01BF means
The bank 2 rail pressure sensor measures the pressure in a second, separate high-pressure rail on V engines that have one rail with its own sensor per bank.
How the engine computer detects it
Many V engines connect both rails and use only one sensor (P0190–P0194); the only documented user of the bank 2 codes is GM's 5.5 liter LT6 (Corvette Z06 2023–2024) with a digital sensor per rail. P01BF is the plausibility fault of the bank 2 sensor, the counterpart of P0191. GM documents it on the LT6 as an 'internal component fault' of the sensor, appearing together with codes for low rail pressure at start (P00C6), pressure regulation at its limit and injector faults: a wrong 12-pin intermediate connector to the bank 2 rail let water in. The fix was a new engine/injector harness and rail pressure sensor. Thresholds are not published; GM's dual-channel comparison on bank 1 (1.0 MPa) suggests similar logic. On a fault the module uses a substitute value and usually limits power.

Symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Reduced power
- Starting problems (with P00C6)
- Misfires with injector codes at the same time
Common causes
- Water or corrosion at the bank 2 intermediate connector (GM LT6: wrong 12-pin connector) Most likely
- Bank 2 rail pressure sensor faulty internally Possible
- Genuine pressure fault on bank 2 (pump, control valve) Less likely
How to diagnose P01BF
- Read every stored code with an OBD-II scanner. If misfire or fuel trim codes are there too, fix those first: they often cause this one.
- Inspect the parts involved: fuel rail pressure sensor bank2, sensor wiring, sensor reference voltage.
- Work through the causes above from most to least likely, cheapest checks first.
- Clear the code and drive a full drive cycle to confirm the repair held.

Questions drivers ask
Can I drive with code P01BF?
Drive gently and only as far as you need to. The engine computer may limit power to protect the engine, so avoid highways and heavy traffic until it's fixed. If the check engine light starts flashing, pull over.
Will my car pass an emissions inspection with P01BF?
Probably not in states that test vehicles with an OBD-II scan: an emissions-related code that keeps the check engine light on is usually an automatic fail. Rules differ by state and county, so check yours.
Can I fix P01BF myself?
Often yes, with an OBD-II scanner and basic tools. Difficulty: medium. Start with the cheapest checks before replacing expensive parts.
